Blackpool Rocks May 28th- 29th 2022

Over 30 swimmers from across 4 squads competed to the best of their ability at this popular gala, bringing home a grand total of 23 medals; over 40 other top 10 places were achieved and an astounding 90+ pbs were smashed! The improvement of the swimmers was plain for all to see, and reflective of the time and commitment put in by swimmers, coaches and parents alike. North West Region Special Olympics

Nine members of the squad attended the NW Regional Special Olympics in Liverpool on 16 May 2022. Some brilliant swims were achieved with a total of 11 personal best times, and a total of 2 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals won. A brilliant atmosphere and another event where our swimmers continue to amaze us – proud of being Team BOK.

Spring North East Region Championships

Our BOK swimmers’ competitive, fast performances were terrific at the Open and final weekend of the Age Group NER Championships @Ponds Forge and Leeds (31st April, 1st May, and 7th and 8th May). With a great team ethos – the squads delivered many PBs, final positions, and seven medals overall. Highlights include a fantastic medal haul by Daniel Jackson, who gained gold and three silvers! North East Region Age Group Championships 2022

The first weekend of the Swim England North East Region 2022 (SENER) Age Group championships took place on the 23rd and 24th of April at John Charles Stadium Leeds. Artistic Swimming Land Trainer Required

Artistic Swimming has a vacancy for someone to plan and lead land training for 15 to 20 swimmers to improve flexibility and strength. Must be qualified to teach children from 8 years with a current DBS. Venue: Holmfirth Fitness Centre Time: Sundays 2.30 to 3.30pm. Rate: £30 per hour. BOK speed swimming success at Spring Derventio Excel Meet

Twenty-eight swimmers from the BOK squads competed at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, at the Spring Derventio Excel meet on 19th and 20th March weekend. Qualifying times for the event were tough as this is a highly competitive, fast weekend with elite swimmers competing from clubs from far and wide across the country. With younger swimmers from JP1 and JP2 competing alongside experienced National and Senior swimmers, it was a great team event with impressive PBs and medals against stiff competition. Medal haul for Borough of Kirklees swimmers at Yorkshire Championships

28 club swimmers make Yorkshire finals and win a total of 34 medals At the 2022 Yorkshire Swimming Championships in February, BOK brought home a whopping 34 medals. In all, around 40 children from across the squads qualified with 28 of those reaching the finals in their age-group category events. Swimmers met in Leeds and Sheffield for the annual event. Entry was by way of achieving qualifying times, and races were staged for all age groups, from 10 to 17+ years, in a range of distances from 50m sprints to 1500m long-distance events.
