BOK Synchronettes training

Training sessions are run by qualified coaches, who are supported by parent volunteers. Training takes place as follows and all swimmers should arrive at least 10 minutes before training starts:

Day Time Location

Pool training Sunday 4.45 – 6.15pm Holmfirth Swimming Pool
Pool training Monday 5.00 – 7.00pm Almondbury High School swimming pool

Competitions usually take place on Saturdays or Sundays, however some national competitions can take place mid-week.

Locations may vary throughout the country, although regional championships will take place within the regional catchment area.

Training equipment

All swimmers should bring the following kit to every session:

  • Swimwear of any colour
  • Goggles
  • Nose clips*
  • Swim hat of any colour
  • 2 x 5 litre plastic bottles (clean and empty) e.g. empty fabric conditioner bottles

* Nose clips can be purchased through the club.

We need your help and support

As the club is run by volunteers, we ask that one representative for each swimmer helps out at training and competitions. Details about our competition roles can be found on the Synchro info and forms page or the Synchro competitions page.

Parents and guardians are also asked to help, on a rota system, on the poolside at training sessions, and to take a turn looking after the coomber (music machine) approximately twice a year.

Meet our coaches
Our dedicated coaches, Jade, Sarah and Jean have been involved with the sport for many years. The coaches also choreograph routines which, over the years, have won numerous medals at local and regional competitions.

Jade Jade started synchronised swimming aged 7. She competed for a number of years at local, regional and national level and is a former Yorkshire Champion. Jade started coaching 6 years ago and is a qualified Level 2 coach.

Sarah Sarah started as a poolside helper when her daughter started synchronised swimming almost a decade ago. In 2013, Sarah qualified as a Level 1 coach. SONY DSC
Jean Jean’s interest in synchronised swimming began around 30 years ago when her daughter took up the sport. Over the years, Jean has become a respected coach and member of the Synchro community. SONY DSC
